Join our fall SERIES Reading Challenge
Seasons come and go, let's read some books and make it snow!
Join our reading challenge in November and December and help the library change from autumn to winter! Get a Series Challenge tracking sheet from the library, then read 3 fiction books in the same series.
Record the titles, get your parents to inital that you read the books,
then bring your tracking sheet to library class to get your first snowflake to place on our tree.
Take your tracking sheet back home and repeat to earn more snowflakes.
Each snowflake you earn will count as an entry into a prize draw the week before Christmas holidays.
You can fill out more than one sheet! You can read books from anywhere,
however reading series from our library that you’ve never read before will earn you bonus entries in the draw.
Please note: graphic novels and non-fiction books are not eligible for this contest.

Frequently Asked Questions
When does the contest start? Monday, October 30. Any books you were already reading that day can be counted. You must read the whole book be be able to write it down on your sheet.
Can I read books I've read before? The purpose of this challenge is to explore new series, and read many books in the same series, so you should be trying to read books you haven't read before.
Can I write down books I read last week? No, you can only count books you started reading October 30 or later.
When do I bring in my tracking sheet? Bring in your sheets on your library day, and send them to the library in the morning with your class book bin. You don't have to bring your sheet every week. You can wait until one or more sets are filled in on your sheet before bringing it in.
Can I read Dog Man for this contest? No, sorry, Dog Man is a graphic novel, and comics and graphic novels are not eligible for this contest.
Is there any non-fiction series allowed? Biography series, such as Who Was...?/What was...?, will count.
Can I read books from home? Yes, the books you read for this contest can be from anywhere, they don't all have to be checked out from our library.
If I read a book from home that are from a series I've never read before, and you also have them in the library, will that count for a bonus entry? Yes!
What if the series I'm reading only has two books? Sorry, you'll have to chose a different series.
What if the series I'm reading has only three books and I read one last week? Sorry, you'll have to pick a new series for the contest.
Do I have to read the books myself or can someone read them to me? You have read the books yourself, but you can read along side a parent or sibling and get help with the big words as much as you need.
What are the prizes? Prizes have not fully been decided on, however this contest will take the place of the upcoming book fair contest, so prize choices will include books and posters from the book fair, as well as chocolate bars and small toys.
When does the contest end? All contest sheets must be received by Tuesday, December 19, to be entered into the draw. The entries will be sorted into classes and at least 3 winners from EACH class with be drawn Wednesday morning, December 20.
