As a young boy, John Grisham dreamed of being a professional baseball player. Realizing he didn’t have the right stuff for a pro career, he shifted gears and majored in accounting at Mississippi State University and eventually went on to become a lawyer. One day after hearing a particular testimony in court, John decided to write a fictional book around it. He had a hard time getting any publishers to pick that book up, but he kept writing books and within a couple years, he was a best-selling author. He has written at least 32 books, and 9 of them have been turned into movies. John lives in Mississippi and Virginia with his wife.
