Margaret Peterson Haddix grew up on a farm in Ohio and graduated with degrees in English/journalism, English/creative writing & History.  She worked as a newspaper copy editor, a newspaper reporter and a college instructor before her first book, Running Out of Time, was published.  She has since published more than 40 books for kids, and teens including the Shadow Children series, the Missing series, the Children of Exile series, the Under Their Skin Duology, and many other stand alone novels. Her books have won numerous awards. She and her husband live in Ohio nearby their two adult children.
