Lincoln Peirce (pronounced "Purse") was born in Iowa. He is an American cartoonist who is mainly known for creating and illustrating Big Nate and Max and the Midknights. Lincoln lives in Portland, Maine, with his wife and two children. Occasionally, he gives lectures to students about cartooning. Peirce has worked as a High School art teacher and baseball coach. He plays hockey in an “old man’s hockey league” for fun.
